Elle Luciano 5/02/2021 10:46 AMI met my neighbors 3 days ago, their dog Eva was the first to start the conversation. I was walking my doggo, Nova, and when the neighbors I had passed countless days in the past year, were sitting on their porch and said hello as Eva and Nova met through the fence line. They introduced themselves as Val and Mike and began to talk about anything and everything. I enjoyed listening to their thoughts and as our dogs, now playing in Val and Mikes yard, starting to run around there was a moment where we all simply enjoyed and laughed as they did. The conversation continued and they began to tell me more about their business and how they work with athletes and other neighbors around the district I live in. I plan to go back and visit in the coming week to talk more are setting up a time to join the biking group they go on rides with monthly! Relating back to my commitments to action, I felt so grateful to have had this encounter both organically and with the intentions and teachings of how to be a constructive listener and engage in the community.
