Summer's actions
It's all connected
LEARN ABOUT LOCAL ISSUES
I will find out what local sustainability issues are most urgent in my region, including both social and environmental justice concerns.
Responding to Systemic Violence
Support Native Communities
I will use the resource links provided and spend 45 minutes learning about the native populations that lived in my area prior to colonization, and what I can do to support those that still exist.
Responding to Systemic Violence
Reduce Single-Use Disposables
Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. To reduce the landfill space needed for my lifestyle, I will not use single-use items this week (i.e. plastic straws, plastic cutlery, plastic water bottles, disposable coffee cups, and plastic bags).
Peace Talks
Meet My Neighbors
I will connect with my community by meeting 2 new neighbor(s) this week.
Understanding Systems through Conflict Transformation
Research Restorative Justice
I will spend 30 minutes this week learning about restorative justice and conflict resolution opportunities in my own community or state.
Justice for the Whole Community
Do Nature Activities
I will engage in nature-based activities alone, or with my friends or family, for 60 minute(s) this week. (This can be anything from going on a walk or hike, to noticing the leaves changing color, to reading a book with nature themes.)
Co-Creating Living Peace
Join My Neighborhood Association
I will join my neighborhood association or another local group.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?
