So basically what I'm reading with the new legislation proposed in the house is that the US is trying to catch up to countries like China in sustainability because China's products help the US out, and because of this extra production reliance, China has a significantly higher emissions rate, whereas if the US can get their emissions rate down in their production, China can distribute more evenly to other countries, lowering their emissions rate.
This will allow the US to accelerate itself in lowering its own emissions rate and lowering the emissions rate in the lifecycle of developing countries, in tandem with the worlds leaders in sustainability.
China's a great base example because they have the largest population sect/emissions/development of low emission technology. The regression scale should result in a significant difference.
Wonder if there's already a study out that can delineate this.
